Our Mission & Values
Our Actions and Commitments
At Odysseo, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and protecting marine ecosystems through concrete actions.
Solar Energy –
Reducing Our Carbon Footprint
Our parking area is equipped with large solar panels, allowing us to harness renewable energy and significantly reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. By integrating clean energy solutions, we are taking steps toward a greener future.
Optimiszed Waste Management –
Encouraging Recycling
At Odysseo, we actively sort and recycle waste to minimize environmental impact. Dedicated recycling bins are placed throughout the oceanarium, allowing visitors to properly dispose of paper, plastic, and cans. Our goal is to encourage responsible waste management and reduce landfill waste.
The Odysseo Foundation
was launched in 2024 with the mission to promote marine conservation, research, and education in Mauritius and the Indian Ocean region. Its flagship initiatives include the Coral Project, which focuses on reef restoration; the Blue Carbon Ecosystems Project, dedicated to preserving mangroves and seagrass habitats; and the St. Brandon Project, aimed at studying and protecting this remote atoll
What Makes Odysseo Unique?
Because There’s No Such Thing as Big
or Small Actions for the Planet
Every effort counts when it comes to protecting the planet. Whether through small everyday actions or large-scale initiatives, we believe that every individual and organization has the power to make a difference. Together, we can ensure a sustainable future for our oceans and future generations.
